2022 will be a fantastic year for engineers to move to Switzerland

2022 is coming! In less than five months, a new year will begin. This gives you the opportunity to start a new career and new life in a new country: Switzerland!

Why is it such a good time to move now? There are still many job openings in Switzerland in IT and engineering that can not be filled, because the talents are not here.

With the pandemic, digitalisation has increased and has reached areas that stubbornly stuck to paper for decades. This means that even more software engineers are needed than ever before. So it’s your perfect opportunity to land a job in IT in 2022!

Switzerland is an excellent place to live as an engineer

The most fundamental ingredient is a great quality of living: Switzerland has consistently ranked as one of the top 10 countries in the world regarding quality of life. Be it the safety and stability of the country, the low pollution of the environment, the very high level of education or just the niceness of the mountains and lakes, Switzerland outranks most other countries in the world. This makes it a great place to enjoy your free time and a great base to raise your kids.

Salaries are comfortable

Wherever you are coming from - your salary will most likely be much higher in Switzerland. Even when you compare it with the higher cost of living, what remains for savings or pleasure is often higher in the same job role than what you earn right now. So you can basically have more money for vacations or your hobbies just by moving to Switzerland and doing pretty much the same that you did before.

Relocation is easy

For most European (EU/EFTA) citizens, moving to Switzerland is relatively easy. You won’t need a visa before you can start your job search and there are no strict immigration rules for you. You can easily find a job without the paperwork you would need for moving to the US for example. This and the fact that getting started in Switzerland with English is quite possible makes your first step into the country easier than you may think. In some cities, like Zürich and Geneva, English is so widespread, you might even think English was another official language in those places (which officially it is not).

You could always go back, but won’t want to

If you are not convinced, why not just come for a year and see what it is like? As explained, the threshold for giving it a trial run are not that high. You don’t have to commit to the new country from day one entirely. You can gradually try it out, see if it works for you. If you don’t feel like it, you can always go back. And if you are lucky, you will not want to once you are here for a couple of months.New Paragraph
